Birthday Explosion Box

Hello,

Today I am going to showcase one of my latest creations, A Birthday Theme Explosion Box. This was created for my friends friend. ;) A combination of ideas from two other crafters. I really like it.
It will not be a tutorial as you can combine and create your own explosion box. So here is its top with a very nice quote "Don't keep calm coz its ur 25 bday". This caption is what I liked the most. Have a look. :)

Nice.. Isn't it? :P
Okay, this box has two layers, four flaps each and each decorated as per the theme.
There is one flap which is my personal favorite as birthday would be incomplete without this.

Hello,

Here I am with my new jewelry creation. Its been a long time since I posted about making an earring pair. This pair was a result of just an experimentation again. I like its shape because it is much different from the ones I created previously. I got an idea of a new combination ang got some new beads. ;)
Okay, so let's start. Today I won't be posting a complete tutorial as it is just a short quick post.  I hope you all understand.
This piece of handmade jewelry is my personal favorite due to its color combination. I hope you will also like it.

Things You Will Need:-

1. Quilling strips of two different colors (combination of your choice)
2. Earring hooks, jump rings, head pins.
3. Some white beads, I have used it of different sizes.
4. Glue and  varnish ofcourse.

Steps to make:

  1. First step is to quil a coil with color combination of your choice.
  2. Now, Press it with your palm to make it an oval shaped and press slightly more to make pointed at two ends.
  3. Apply varnish and let it dry.
  4. After 2-3 coats of varnish, paste beads on the sides of the oval as shown in the final pic.
  5. Take a drop shaped bead and hang it to the lower portion of earring.

How To Make A Gift Box From Scrap

Hello friends,

My today's creation is mainly for kids. Kids love gifts, isn't it? So here is a new option to make a gift cum favor box for kids. This can also be used as return gifts for birthday parties. Girls will be most attracted by this. Let me show you all a picture of this so that you can easily guess what and how it is made. :)

Yeah you guesses it right, this is mage up from scrap news papers and magazines. 'Brunch' by HT is my favorite for such things. ;)
So what all you need is:-
1. An old box of desirable size, I used my old mobile handset box as I had to put a lot of goodies in it. ;)

2. Scrap paper cut outs from old magazines.
3. Pasting material such as fevicol. I used a mixture of fevicol and water to paste these papers cuttings.
4. Some flowers for decoration
5. Tapes or ribbons to make a boundary, I used white paper tape.

How To Start:-

1. Start with pasting each paper cutting evenly on the box. Apply the mixture in such a way to remove all the wrinkles and air bubbles.
2. Apply to cover the complete box and let it dry for about 45 minutes.
3. Now decorate this as you like. I attached a handle also with it to give it a look of a handbag. ;)

Other method is to cover the box with a decorative paper. Here are both of my creations.
Interesting fact is that my cousin got the first prize in her "best out of waste" contest. :) :)

How To Make A Cake

Hello all,

Here I am to share a new tutorial with you all. It was fun and quick to create this. I will show you how to make a cake. Yeah, you read it right, how to make a cake. But it's not some baking technique as I will be making this cake with paper. :) It can be used for any decoration purpose. I used it to place inside an explosion box.
I have made this first time and wanted to share with you all.
Let's start up now.

Things You Need:-

  1. Colored paper (as per the flavor you want to make ;))
  2. Scrap paper bits
  3. Numerical stickers
  4. Colored beads for decoration(for decoration)
  5. Red quilling strips(for decoration)
  6. Fevicol, scissors and double sided tape

Procedure:-

To make a cake, we have to prepare 3 layers using colored paper.
  1. Make a circular disc as a base of colored paper. I used curvy scissors to make a pattern on its sides.
  2. Cut a strip of paper around 3.5cms wide and 12cms in length.(Can be altered as per your requirement) Make a loop of it by joining two sides together with the help of fevicol.
  3. Now cut another disc with diameter a bit larger to the diameter of the loop.
  4. Arrange the three cutouts step by step. Place the loop over the larger disc cut. Now to the other side of the loop fix the smaller disc.
  5. The base model of the cake has been baked ;). Now it's the time to decorate it.
  6. I had a theme behind making this, 25th birthday. So I used "25" numerical stickers to decorate the top.
  7. With the help of double sided tape, fox  the numbers in such a way that they do not fall. This will look something like this:
    Base of the cake
  8. Cut some paper bits from different colored scrap papers, can be of any shape.
  9. Sprinkle these bits on the top layer to make it colorful.
    Decoration of cake top
  10. Make swirls using quilling strips to decorate the sides of the cake.
  11. Fix these swirls on the side of the cake to make it look beautiful.
  12. I have added beads to the base to enhance its look.
This is the one I have made. :)
