Our today's crafter is very bubbly, soft spoken and a successful woman - VISHAKHA MITTAL. Seriously telling you, I approached her for the friend request just because I found her cute and she resemble the gorgeous Deepti Naval ji.. 

Who says no?? No one can say NO as she looks like her. ;) She is damn cute and has magic in her fingers. Then I started looking at her work which is really awesome - images will explain it all. :)

Paper Crafts

When did you first feel that being crafty is going to be your way of life?
Eleven years back, when my mom had taught me how to make envelopes. I started exploring new designs of envelopes and then cards, jewelery, creative packaging and finally scrapbooking. And now even though i hold a very good position at a leading MNC crafting is still the love of my life. If my job is for living, crafting is for soul.

Your first creation was a:
A cute envelope, shirt shaped :P:P

Your favorite crafting technique is:
Mine is a very free style way of working, i like to use anything and everything under the sun to make my work look creative. To name a one, vintage is one of my favorite.

Share your best and worst (if any) client experiences:
Best is when my client appreicates my efforts, i would nt really like to tell my worst :P

What have you learnt from your experiences in this luxurious field?
I have learnt to be more creative, where i find sky is the limit, life is my canvas and ocean is the pool of supplies.

Do you prefer shopping for makeup kits and accessories or crafting supplies?
Definite answer, crafting supplies

What are the 5 things you can't do without?
For crafting a desired peace:

1. My ideas
2. My confidence
3. My passion
4. My mom
5. Scoreboard, tapes, glues.... the list is unlimited

You are the last person in this world, what would you do?
Craft, craft and craft until i die !!!!

"hmmmm, good question.. along with work its difficult yes, but where lies passion you tend to adjust your schedules.

Crafting is my meditation and only way of relaxing, so i can sacrifice my sleep for it :)"

When did you first feel that being crafty is going to be your way of life?
I've been doing Crafting and Painting from 7th Standard. I have always been motivated by My Parents and Teachers. I had participate a lot in Youth Festivals, Inter-College Competitions and much much more. It gives me recognition and encouragement. I realized than this is gonna be passion in my life. Creating anything give me a sense of relief and calmness. 

Your first creation was a:
An Oil Painting

Your favorite crafting technique is:
My fave crafting technique is combining various mixed media techniques into one.

Share your best and worst (if any) client experiences:
I had designed layout for Girl, she wanted to gift it to her Fiancee. She was so happy as her fiancee really loved that layout. This is what i try to do bring smiles in other lives.

What have you learnt from your experiences in this luxurious field?
I have learnt one important thing from this field that patience can leads to greatest achievements

Do you prefer shopping for makeup kits and accessories or crafting supplies?
CRAFTING SUPPLIES ONLY!! :D

What are the 5 things you can't do without?
Fiskars Trimmer, Heat Gun, Glue Gun, Spray Bottle, Embossing Powder, Tiny scissors, Acrylic Colors and list goes on 

You are the last person in this world, what would you do?
Well I want to spend as much as time with my mother.

What would you like to make for Crazy Crafts? :P (I know I am being crazy, but would love to hear)
I'm loving Photography these days so would like to capture something for Crazy Crafts :D

I use to Create Landscape Scenes on Chart for School Projects.I remember, had earned Rs 150/- through someone's school project. 

How do you manage home and crafts?
Well its not that easy, But I'm Thankful to my Mother who supports throughout this. It's make my work much easier.

When did you first feel that being crafty is going to be your way of life?
The day I got married and had to set up my "Home", I decided I will get only my art works displayed and wouldn't buy any! That's how the interest started.

Your first creation was a:
A stained glass painting which I still treasure, this was way back in 1995!
**Wow.. she has been doing wonders since I was so young..!! :) ;)**

Your favorite crafting technique is:
I love altered art and love to re cycle. Most of my projects have an up cycled item from our house hold trash and love creating textures and 3D flowers.

Share your best and worst (if any) client experiences:
I was a client before I started having clients! So as a client I am clear about the order details, time of delivery and payment too and so I expect the same from my clients too and make sure these are done properly to ensure a lasting and smooth relationship. 

What have you learnt from your experiences in this luxurious field?
Crafting is an expensive hobby, lol ! But a great stress buster and creating art in any form is what keeps me sane!

Do you prefer shopping for makeup kits and accessories or crafting supplies?
I LOVE shopping and if you had asked me this a couple of years back, I would say clothes and accessories but priorities have changed now! There is no end to buying crafting supplies....the list is always ON!

What are the 5 things you can't do without?
In Crafting...my big shot, glue gun, heat gun, distress inks,hand made paper.

You are the last person in this world, what would you do?
Make hay while the sun shines! I would do all that pleases me only for a little while cos without sharing there is no happiness!

What would you like to make for Crazy Crafts? :P (I know I am being crazy, but would love to hear)

A hobby is a MUST and I always say... don't throw that Trash away! They are precious and there is so much that can be done with them. Trash is precious!

I have been deeply inspired by Tim Holtz techniques and Gabrielle Pollacos mixed media works.

Your first earning was from and how much?
I did a summer camp for kids in 2001 and earned close to 7000/

How do you manage home and crafts?
I have an extremely understanding family and my kids love to see me crafting. They know I am a better person doing that than NOT doing that, lol!

When did you first feel that being crafty is going to be your way of life?
Difficult to say...started very young but my creativity took shape after marriage since I had some freedom to follow my passion...

Your first creation was a:
Don't remember what I created first but around when I was 12/13 I created a sofa set out of match boxes which gained tremendous appreciation...every other person was asking me to make one for them.


Your favorite crafting technique is:
STAMPING....

My clients are my students...
I have a student named Purvi Dand. She did a course on Punch craft with me. She is also a craft teacher. About a fortnight after she finished her course one fine afternoon she paid me a visit and waited patiently till I winded up my class. Then she came up to me and handed me an envelope. I asked her "" What's this?"" She told me "" Mam...This is my first earning for punch craft and I want to give it to you as my gurudakhshina""....


What have you learnt from your experiences in this luxurious field?
Just keep on doing your good work...

I am not a shopoholic...
I buy things if I need them...

Deepti Stephens - Simple, Sober and Artistic

Meet my personal favorite crafter - DEEPTI STEPHENS. 
Her crafts work has an immense simplicity in it. The greeting cards are represented in a very good way. Simple and attractive.

I am weak at card making and she inspires me a lot. I definitely wish to learn making cards from her, use the crafting supplies efficiently and being able to make cards very soon.. :P

We all really need a few basic craft supplies to make or create cards or crafty stuff. But what I learnt was not to invest too much on the craft supplies. I strongly believe that a little could create a magic so I always  create projects with whatever stuff I have in my stash.. :)
**This motivated me most, so I have planned to use my existing stock first..;) **

Do you prefer shopping for makeup kits and accessories or crafting supplies?
She did not respond, may be she was confused.. haha.. any girl would be.. :P

What are the 5 things you can't do without?
Cardstock, black ink, stamps, markers and blings.

When did you first feel that being crafty is going to be your way of life?
I always loved colors when since the age of three I started drawing (scribbling) I love learning and creating new stuffs and crafting has been my ultimate stress buster.

Your first creation was a:
My first creation was a scribbled art when I was around 3 years (like my mom said).

Your favorite crafting technique is:
I love stamping and its endless techniques.

Share your best and worst (if any) client experiences:
My best experience was my client's fiyonce went crazy after receiving the creation and she messaged me personally to thank, that was really sweet gesture.

What have you learnt from your experiences in this luxurious field?
I am in the learning process , learning everyday , this field is a vast ocean and its like addiction . It had been an amazing experience  I am loving every bit of it.

Do you prefer shopping for makeup kits and accessories or crafting supplies?
Both , but now a days end up shopping for my craft supplies.

What are the 5 things you can't do without?
Martha scoreboard , trimmer , distress inks, big shot and dies and stamps and pattern papers ( never ending list) , basically I cant live without crafting.

Priyanka Thukral - A Pretty Crafty Queen..!!

Hello All, 

During this National Crafts Month, Crazy Crafts, has taken the initiative to know a bit more about a few of your favorite Crafty people. We will present some interesting facts and experiences of those crafters in front of you. They shared some good experiences and memories with Crazy Crafts. I am really happy to share those here. So, to begin with, our CRAFTER OF THE DAY is:

Priyanka Thukral - a very jolly nature and experienced crafty girl. 

She is an expert in field of Paper crafting and scrapbooking. 

Ok, when do you think she started crafting? 2 years back? 3 years back? NO.

She started knitting her CRAFTY dream when she was in school. Here is how she replied in a very generous way to a very basic question:

"In my school time I used to imitate the ready made cards using different materials and embellishments and that was when I was 100% sure that crafting is my life :) <3"

Her first creation was a card made out of a transparent sheet and markers, during her school time. I am sure it's been a beautiful creation. I wish we could have a picture of it.
